USMUN 2008!

It was such a fantastic weekend for me at the University of Sussex Model United Nations conference! I has been the first time ever I attended it, but definitely not the last one! People from all over Europe, hours of debating and laughing, great fun in style!

I will post as soon as I will get the passed resolution from the European Union Council of Ministers where I was sitting, although I am sure most of my fellow delegates still hate me (and dear delegate of Romania, regards to Jean-Marc!) for blocking it as long as we could!

Hopefully, someone will post some pictures from USMUN08 soon and you will see how bravely I was defending Bulgaria’s views!

By the way, at the African Cup of Nations Senegal has already sacked their head coach after two games only. I would like to feel sorry for Henryk Kasperczak, however after I had met him and he’s rudeness had been difficult to accept, such a defeat is necessary. Bucket of cold water always helps…

African Cup of Nations

I have just seen the most amazing soccer picture ever, just days before the African Cup of Nations tournament.

Although it’s cruel and shows a scene from Sudan/Somalia day-to-day life, some things are still quite funny in its impossibility and keeping distance to reality, you make have a laugh.

Chelsea Poland' delegates at the Bridge

I've just realised I forgot to mention it here. At the Newcastle game (29th December) there was few member of Chelsea Poland! Wow :-)

Michal, Pawel, Mariusz and myself had a great weekend with the match as the biggest attraction! Although we scored first after a hand-ball, then we scored an own-goal and the winner one with 5 metres offside, it was worth to come all the way from Poland. I am sure boy don't regret it and have fantastic memories!

Some of theirs pictures you can find here and if some of you understands Polish, at his blog Michal wrote few notes about this trip.

Cheers guys and thanks for coming!

The famous Tottenham Hotspur went to Rome...

I really don’t like to write before the games, especially like this one. We are playing Spurs tomorrow and it’s more than a game for supporters’ of both teams.

Obviously, from Chelsea’s point of view, it may be stressful match. To be honest, as a spectator of most team’s games in last month, we play horrible and without the power we used to show. Games against teams like Everton, QPR, Newcastle, Blackburn or Fulham were far too disappointing, although we won.

Watching the match against Aston Villa, in the half-time, I was sure the 74-unbeaten-home-league-games row will be finished, but somehow we drew 4:4.

It would be a sad afternoon in West London, if Tottenham win. Every single record-breaking row has to finish one day, however against them it’s the worst idea.

The football club is more than players, staff and management, so even though they all somehow let me down recently, I am going to do my best, to support them from the Shed End tomorrow. We are making history now, such a pity if it was over.

The manager, by the way I wish only one thing: “Leave the club alone”, has just signed Anelka alias Bilal (pictured right) to add some strength in the attacking line. Or to create it, because I didn’t see it in the last few weeks at all! Quiet unbelievable, especially thinking about the top-flight club! Now it has cost us ₤15 millions to get a proper footballer.Appropriate value, I believe.

This time tomorrow I will be claver, so I’m looking forward to write a note here after the game!

How to destroy the champions?

I’m not the first person ever to ask such a question, I bet there were many frustrated guys whose favourite teams had touched the heaven and then fell down, however this time it has come to me and other follow-supporters.

It’s true we were not playing beautifully in the last six months when Mourinho was in charge, but somehow I still felt a part of the Club, I understood them and gave them my support. Unfortunately, it comes more and more difficult recently. For the first time ever in my life I do not support Chelsea manager and wish him to get sacked as soon as it’s possible.

I cannot stand on the Chelsea bench there is a guy who does not have enough experience, qualifications, knowledge, anything to be the top football club manager. He would have never become the United or Barcelona manager, so why he is in charge at the Bridge?

Even though it was about Arsenal. Nick Hornby in his remarkable book “Fever Pitch” said a manager for supporters is like a member of family, the closest friend. He is, or at least he supposes to be. Not here, not in Chelsea.

I was eventually happy when the crowd booed him during the Newcastle home game on Dec 29th singing “You don’t know what you are doing”. Somehow it can be compared to the situation of Isaiah Thomas from NY Knicks, head coach and president of this club, who does not have any support from stands. Actually, they are against him, even though the fans’ commitment in America is much but much smaller than in Europe where supporters believe that clubs belong to them.

I don’t know when something will happen in London, but unless Mr Abramovich will splash some cash for great players to close fans’ mouths, it is unavoidable. Looking back over my shoulder I remember great defence and dangerous offensive power of Chelsea. Nowadays we can lose 4 (F-O-U-R) goals at home against Aston Villa and struggle to score against Newcastle, where players fight against each other or are arrested.

Obviously, we need some players to come over and help us to go through this season. But if we don’t show doors to Mr Grant, we will fail to achieve anything even with top-class players like Ballack, Terry, Ronaldinho or Berbatov.
